Cain Cabal information
The following information may be retrieved from the computers of the Cain Cabal on their secret island base. It is up to your characters what gets passed on to the government and other characters. Players are invited to use this information as a foundation for future plots involving these NPCs, provided standard approval is obtained through the community Plotting post.
1) Future plans: To advance their goal of duplicating imPort resurrection for ordinary humans, the Cabal is researching ways to obtain Continuum, the rare substance which powers imPort nanites. They may try to mine it themselves, or steal it from the government. They are also planning to abduct live imPorts for hideous experiments. The Cabal obtained valuable data from the ambush in Heropa, but more is needed for them to fully exploit the imPort ability to return from death.
2) Voice log dated 2009: Recorded by Carlton Sandhurst, an important Cabal member, shortly before his death. It runs as follows:
[COUGHING] ...Bateman asked me something the other day. I thought I should put the answer down for the record... [COUGHING] He wanted to know: why call the organization 'Cain Cabal,' like we were some kind of religious sect? We're not on some divine mission.
But I told him... The legend says Cain was the first man ever to strike down another. You could say he invented murder. And God put a Mark of protection on him, so no one would kill him for it. He went on to live a long time, built cities, had children. Some people call that punishment... I call it proof. That the world rewards innovators, not the moral. That's why...
[Extended COUGHING until the speaker whispers 'damn it' and ends the recording]
3) Porter data: The Cabal gained significant insight into Porter technology over seven years of research and espionage, which is how they were able to master teleportation for their own use and swap imPort powers. Their research data could be valuable to any imPort engaged in Porter study.
4) Key personnel: The following is not an exhaustive list of Cabal leadership, but these individuals are vital to their operations. The evidence retrieved from the core will be strong enough to obtain legal authority for an arrest. Unfortunately, none of these suspects are present at this facility... and all of them may be very difficult to bring to justice.

LOCATION: Secret cryonic vault beneath San Francisco, maintained by Cabal scientists
AGE: 86 (deceased in 2009 due to old age and illness)
OCCUPATION: Industrialist, owner of several global chemical companies
ROLE: Financier. Sandhurst secretly bequeathed billions to the Cabal upon his death in 2009, in hopes that their research would one day return him to life and youth. His heirs and family are largely unaware of his involvement with the Cain Cabal.
NAME: Clifford Bateman.
NATIONALITY: United States
LOCATION: Manhattan, New York City
AGE: 75
OCCUPATION: Wall Street investment banker
ROLE: Money laundering. Bateman's financial expertise has been instrumental in concealing and moving the enormous resources of the Cain Cabal. Bateman himself is extremely wealthy and has numerous influential connections. Even if he's arrested, securing a conviction may be difficult.
NAME: Martha Coax
NATIONALITY: United States
LOCATION: Amistad, Texas (see World Info page)
AGE: 42
OCCUPATION: Private military contractor, specializing in headhunting. President of Ibex International Security Solutions, headquartered in Amistad.
ROLE: Mercenary recruitment and training. Note that Coax is herself a military veteran, experienced with close-quarters combat and firearms, and will strongly resist apprehension.
NAME: Dr. Mia Malone
NATIONALITY: Australia
LOCATION: Hong Kong
AGE: 38
OCCUPATION: Nanotechnology expert, scientist
ROLE: Dr. Malone has been key in advancing the Cabal's research. She designed the nanomachines that imPorts were injected with during the ambush in Heropa. Her motives are more altruistic than most of her comrades: she genuinely believes replicating imPort healing and resurrection will benefit the entire human race. It may be difficult to bring her to trial in America, as she is working from a private lab in Hong Kong.
